“Twenty nine Louisiana artists were nominated among the 104 categories for GRAMMY® awards. Louisiana artists took home eight golden gramophones.”

Best Traditional Gospel Album- The Blind Boys of Alabama
Best Contemporary Blues Album- Dr. John And The Lower 911
Best Zydeco Or Cajun Music Album- BeauSoleil & Michael Doucet
Best Rap Solo Performance- Lil Wayne
Best Rap Performance by Duo Or Group- Lil Wayne
Best Rap Song- Lil Wayne
Best Rap Album- Lil Wayne
