Welcome back to “In The Neighborhood,” our series where we share some some of the great local businesses that are within walking distance of the Creole Gardens! Today, we’re eyeing the similarly-yellow French Truck Coffee on Magazine!

French Truck has been serving some of the freshest, sustainably sourced coffee the city has to offer for some time now, and they’ve reaped the rewards. With locations across the city, as well as Baton Rouge and Memphis, you can always spot their charming yellow and blue buildings and pop in for a fresh cup.

One of their first locations is just a few blocks from us here at the Creole Gardens, on Magazine & Erato, right at the tail end of the Lower Garden District. While the location was previously their smallest, having been converted from a space used strictly for roasting coffee for their wholesale partners. With a small bar offering only coffee and pastries—some of their larger locations serve up a small & delicious menu including sandwiches, salads and, our personal favorite, waffles—it recently expanded and re-opened in February. The location now features double the seating in a cozy new dining & working space. This new expansion is sure to excite any locals in the LGD with a love of working in the often relaxed-yet-focused ambiance of the many coffee shops New Orleans has on offer.

While we do indeed offer 24-hour coffee & tea in our parlor, nothing pleases us more than when our guests explore the neighborhood, and support our friends in the Lower Garden District! Next time you’re staying with us, we hope you’ll pop in to French Truck and say hello!
